Social Software and Web2.0 Platforms

Back in the early days of the web social software wasn't something you accessed through a browser, it was more likely you were using a Usenet reader or IRC client. In today's Web 2 enabled world 'Social Software' is a very different, very popular, and very 'Web' kinda beast.
